Senior Director | Data Science | Strategic Communications
About the Role

The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the world's most highly regarded communications consultancies. Our data science and analytics group is seeking an entrepreneurial and creative Senior Director, Data Science. The Senior Director, Data Science will work in close collaboration with the Head of Data & Analytics to develop our data science capabilities in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region. The successful candidate will design, develop, deploy data science solutions for our clients. They will create custom solutions as well as build standardised products. The candidate will also develop and grow the data science team.
What You'll Do
- Lead our data science efforts in the EMEA region in close collaboration with the Head of Data & Analytics
- Create custom solutions for projects in the areas of audience & influencer insights, conversation & media analysis, campaign & message performance, event assessment and more
- Derive and build standardised products from custom solutions
- Use statistics and machine learning techniques to solve complex challenges for our clients, especially regarding their communication and reputation efforts
- Detect hidden patterns, identify trends, reveal drivers, predict developments, visualise similarities and differences, and otherwise leverage data to deliver actionable insights
- Identify and build systematic data pipelines
- Develop and grow a cross-regional team of data scientists
- Collaborate with other experts on the research, planning and development of data-driven projects
- Support new business efforts by delivering data-driven insights to inform our approach
- Support the development of thought leadership surrounding emerging trends and issues
- Helps clients identify and escalate risks in order to act and communicate with integrity.
- Understands and lives by FTI's values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice, and works with junior staff to embed these concepts within the firm's culture.
