We have a fantastic opportunity to join QBE as a Senior Employee Communications Advisor supporting the Senior Employee Communications & Brand Manager (EC Manager) in creating an environment which fosters and drives employee engagement. We are looking to speak to people that already have a solid understanding of best practice in employee / internal communications as well as excellent copywriting and relationship management skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with likeminded individuals in making a real difference to a global organisation. Our Senior EC Advisor will partner with senior stakeholders across the business to manage the end-to-end employee communications plans in line with business objectives.


Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Business partners with senior leader stakeholders to create, consult, influence and shape effective employee communications plans and content that is measurable in terms of adding value to drive employee engagement, that is linked to their business objectives

  • Supporting the EC Manager to strategically shape and support the implementation of the Employee Communications strategy and plans for QBE EO

  • Supports the use and development of the employee communications content calendar scheduler; the news publication process; relevant communications inboxes; utilises our broadcast communications channels, including intranet content to drive consistent messaging and delivery; supports and contributes to employee communications measurement and the insight dashboard

  • Leads on shaping, influencing, and creating together with stakeholders, creative and innovative employee communication campaigns based on best practice and data-led insights to help drive employee engagement

  • Listens, questions, leads, and consults to influence to drive best practice employee communications with senior stakeholders from presentations (virtually and in-person), script-writing/talking points, key messages, etc.

  • Works with the wider communications team, particularly PR/Media team, and the wider organisation to support and drive their key messages and calls to action, as well as test new ideas and approaches to drive engagement both internally and externally (social media, website, etc)

  • Establishes and maintains trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements and assist in the timely delivery of communication engagement solutions

  • Write, review, and edit employee stories in a variety of formats from written to videos and other creative copy

You’ll need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • An excellent understanding of best practice employee communications around audience, content, channels, and measures

  • Excellent copywriting, editing and delivery experience

  • Excellent communications, relationship management, diplomacy, written and verbal skills with senior leaders

  • Experience in strategically influencing senior leaders and building trusted networks

  • Is naturally curious and has a journalistic eye in creating, developing, and shaping engaging stories and campaigns

  • Objective and outcome focused related to deadlines, communications scheduling, channel usage and audience engagement

  • Leads but example and regularly brings in examples from the outside in to help experiment and innovate to drive best practice employee communications and engagement

  • An excellent track-record of delivering effective employee communications and senior leader consultancy
