Closing Date: 4 August 2021

Shakespeare's Globe

Location: London

Remuneration: £26,100 per annum until 31 October 2021 / £29,000 per annum from 1 November 2021

Description

Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our Finance team.

The job:
Supporting the Finance Manager (Ledgers and Systems), the Senior Finance Officers ensure that transactional information is correctly processed, including sales and purchase ledgers, bank account transactions, payments and receipt, and journals, and ensuring that balance sheet codes are correctly balanced at the end of each month for all. The Senior Finance Officers take ownership of their areas, providing a high-quality finance service to internal and external stakeholders.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and can be worked wholly remotely at the moment (with on-site working available); in the coming months we expect to introduce some on-site days but remain supportive of remote working. We’re happy to discuss flexible working in all its forms so please let us know how you work best.

The skills:
The successful candidate will have experience using accounting software and MS Office, and be passionate about good customer service. Working as part of a team, the right person will possess strong planning and organisational skills, be able to meet strict process deadlines, and have the ability to build effective working at all levels, both internally and externally. As an organisation, the Globe is committed to the principles of equality, diversity and anti-racism and implementing them throughout our work, so we ask all colleagues to have a personal commitment to this too.

The team:
The Finance Department plays a crucial role in the success of Shakespeare’s Globe. This team provides a quality financial reporting service that:
• Meets the evolving commercial needs of the organisation;
• Allows the organisation to comply with relevant reporting requirements of the regulatory bodies and fiscal authorities;
• Brings effective financial control and proactive business support to the organisation and to individual departmental budget holders; and
• Provides project management support to the Finance Director in the development of high performance financial reporting and business information systems.

Shakespeare’s Globe:
We celebrate Shakespeare’s transformative impact on the world by conducting a radical theatrical experiment. Inspired and informed by the unique historic playing conditions of two beautiful iconic theatres, our diverse programme of work harnesses the power of performance, cultivates intellectual curiosity and excites learning to make Shakespeare accessible for all. Find out more on our website.

People of the Global Majority and Deaf and disabled people are under-represented at the Globe. We encourage applications from these under-represented groups and we are also open to discussions about flexible working.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to monitoring the effectiveness of our policies and procedures, to help us meet our commitment to be an anti-racist, pro-equality organisation. We would appreciate all candidates responding to our diversity data monitoring survey alongside applications as this helps us make informed decisions about any changes we need to consider making to our recruitment policies, procedures and candidate experience.
