Job Description

Ashley Kate HR are partnering with a well established Distribution business organisation who are looking to appoint a Senior HR Manager on a permanent basis to start as soon as possible. Reporting to the HR Director and managing a team of 2, you will have ultimate responsibility for all operational HR activity within your client group and to accelerate the development of HR services supporting the organisation's business plan.  
Based on site in Leicester you will be also responsible for the sites across the UK and so travel is expected in the role.
This is a brand new role for the business and it is essential that you be will be highly commercially focused and be responsible for looking at the business needs providing practical HR solutions in line with the organisations planned development.  You will be partnering with Directors on the culture of the business as they are going on a continual journey around high performance.   The business has high growth plans but they are family owned and so it is imperative that whilst they continue on their journey the culture and people focused is not lost.
You wil lwork with the HR Director and board on all HR projects from  compensation & benefits, training & development, employee engagement and a well being strategy. You will develop processes to manage and provide reports on key HR and H&S data, manage appraisal systems and be involved in the implementation of a new employee handbook and updating policies and procedures for the business. Furthermore, the role will involve the full end to end cycle from recruitment, to induction programmes and coaching & mentoring.
HR Manager - About you.

  • Proven background working at a senior HR operational level in an evolving and fast changing environment.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Previous experience of managing a HR team and coaching their career development is essential.
  • Strong UK Employment Law Knowledge is essential.
  • Exceptional at building relationships, communication & excellent leadership skills
  • Prior involvement in influencing executive & senior managers


Salary for this role is £50k - £55k + car and bonus
