As a Senior Installation Engineer, you will be embedded within the Front-End Systems Engineering team, to support the regional pursuit teams through all front-end project phases and the project teams during the execution of highly complex integrated SPS/SURF projects.
As a Consultant Engineer for SURF Installation you will:
- Pro-actively liaise with product line teams, peer SURF contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors on all aspects of the project
- Provide SURF engineering input featuring conceptual and front-end design calculations to aid costing and technical definition. This includes design and installability assessments
- Support the sales and commercial organisation during prospecting and tendering phases in discussions with potential clients and SURF partners
- Report progress, technical and interface matters in project meetings and progress reports of assigned CTRs
- Positively represent Baker Hughes at SURF Contractor's premises, sites and on vessels if appropriate, during design and construction phases, as and when required
- Manage contractors' activities related to interfaces, including participating in regular meetings with emphasis on interfaces between SURF and SPS packages
- Actively identify best practice (industry, technical, professional, etc.) and encourage an environment in which this is willingly and openly shared
- Create an environment in which a focus on value awareness is developed and constantly think in terms of cost/benefit trade-off
- Continually seek learning opportunities to further technical capability and openly share knowledge with other team members
- Assist R&D initiatives on field optimization and design reviews
Quality
- Ensure the work is performed in accordance with Baker Hughes Quality Management Systems
Client interfacing
- Liaise with clients on a technical level to ensure their needs are being met during the course of projects
Leadership
- Provide technical leadership as required on studies, projects and other tasks assigned by line manager
Business Development
- Supports the OFSE sales and commercial organization in identifying and pursuing opportunities related to early engagement
Proposals
- Assists in preparing proposals as part of a proposals team or technical peer checker
