You’ll help us improve our understanding of in-depth customer behaviours and competitor activity in the market, and how we can use that insight to support and reward customers, driving value for them and the bank.

Job Description

JOB TITLE: Senior Manager - Commercial Performance/Commercial Insights & Strategy

LOCATION(S): London, Bristol or Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

The Senior Manager Commercial Performance/Commercial Insights & Strategy is a key leadership role that works in partnership with the Head of Commercial Performance & Analytics to deliver improved analytical and insight capability that underpins effective strategic decision making; to drive customer and competitor insight that enables delivery of leading propositions and fair value for customers and commercial return for the bank; and supports the business with the wider strategic objectives of deeper customer relationships.


This role reports into our Head of Commercial Performance & Analytics with the accountability to:

  • Deliver the product strategy in line with the EDB and CR strategy, underpinned by customer and competitor insights ensuring that our propositions support the delivery of our Objectives and Key Results
  • Support the development of insightful and timely customer and commercial analytics to support business decision making
  • Increase the capability of commercial insights across the team. Maximising the use of tools and insights to influence customer led decision making
  • Continually scan the wider market for competitor and market trends impacting the revenue and costs of the business unit
  • Develop a deeper understanding and insights of our customer base, their behaviours and value drivers
  • Lead monthly financial reviews and spot opportunities across the product area

Understanding the external market context and how it impacts the Groups' strategy.

  • You’ll be a Critical Thinker - Using a systematic approach to derive the best solution, with awareness of biases. Explaining and prioritising problems and their possible solutions with colleagues and other stakeholders, even engaging in difficult conversation as required.
  • You’ll understand our Control and Regulatory environment - Understanding the role and purpose of regulation and applies appropriate understanding of relevant regulations to their product decisions.
  • You’ll have a Product Innovation & Development mindset - Anticipating future industry trends and analyses data to develop vision, strategy and goals for new innovative products. Using technology innovations to develop products effectively and efficiently.
