We are looking for a Network Engineer with a strong hands on technical background. The Network Engineer will support the existing Network services for GTS business and Functions.
Primarily responsible for the day-to-day management, fault resolution and administration of GTS network security infrastructure with advice to subordinates. Must have gained at least 5 years' experience of Secure WAN, LAN and security technologies with experience of Cisco. Ideally with two or more certifications in Cisco or equivalent.
Must have good customer facing skills and excellent communication skills with strong experience of network design, operation and support.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge and experience deploying Secure LAN, WAN and perimeter network security technologies
Extensive knowledge of Virtual Private Networks and Remote Access Solutions
Technical knowledge and experience working with enterprise level operating systems, applications and hypervisor technologies as well as their integration with other systems.
A solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP Models
A natural ability to troubleshoot and solve network issues within expected timeframes.
A sound understanding of core network design and security principals.
Knowledge and recognition of “Next-Generation” network and security technologies.
Knowledge and experience working with application-layer gateways and appliances (Load-Balancers, Proxy Servers)
The ability to interpret and react to information provided by enterprise monitoring solutions. Experience working with network monitoring protocols.
Knowledge and experience with Software Defined Networking, cloud hosted networking
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues and concepts to both technical and “non-technical” staff
Broad knowledge of Information Security threats and countermeasures.
A desire to identify and propose service improvements to existing infrastructure solutions and technologies.
Transition technologies into operations environment via structured processes
Travelling to other offices and sites as required

Supporting the LAN / WAN, Gateway and Datacenter environment in a predominantly Cisco deployed solution consisting of:
• Cisco Networking Routing & Switching
• AWS Networking Fundamentals (Native and VMC)
• Direct Connect/Cloud On-Ramp
• Cisco Meraki (Route/Switch/WiFi)
• Cisco AnyConnect Remote-Access VPN
• VMWare ESX / NSX-T
• ZScaler Cloud Proxy
• Palo Alto Firewalling and VPN technology's.
Qualifications and Training:
Educated to degree level and/or holder of a professional information technology qualifications
One of the below or equivalent is desirable:
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Engineering Cisco Meraki Solutions (ECMS2)
• VMWare VCP (v6)
• AWS Certification
