Job Title: Senior Network Platform Engineer
Location: Northern Ireland - Remote/Hybrid Options Available
(must be willing to travel to the office at least once per month)
About the Role:
A well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) in Northern Ireland launched a new Cloud Networking division three years ago and has seen significant growth and demand.
The platform is based on VMware Cloud Foundation Suite, using the latest VxRail Hyperconverged system and best-of-breed technology stack.
As a Senior Network Platform Engineer, this role offers the opportunity to develop expert knowledge of cutting-edge cloud networking technologies, influence the strategic direction of the division, and manage key projects working with top-tier vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee network routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, NAT, VRF, IP Routing, and VPN. (ISP routing protocol experience preferred)
- Design, configure, and manage IP networking in collaboration with multiple Tier 1 Transit providers.
- Conduct comprehensive network troubleshooting and performance analysis.
- Contribute to the development and integration of cloud networking solutions, leveraging technologies such as VMware Cloud Foundation, Cloud Director, NSX, and SDDC.
Requirements:
- Proven background in ISP or a similar high-demand service provider networking environment.
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cloud networking technologies, ideally including VMware NSX, Cloud Foundation suite, Cloud Director, SDDC or similar platforms.
Certifications:
- Essential: CCNP or CCIE or equivalent professional/expert level certification from another vendor
- Desirable: VMware or Veeam certifications
