As the first challenger stockbroker to disrupt the £1.2 trillion UK retail investment market, we’re poised to expand into Europe in 2021. We’ve just closed a Series B funding round led by New York-based growth fund, Left Lane Capital, alongside L Catterton, and Draper Esprit, bringing the total that we’ve raised to over £65m.

We are on track to be over 250 + by the end of the year. Our customer numbers are 1,000,000 and counting, and we are receiving upwards of 4,000 new customer sign ups per day as of January 2021. 

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Regulatory Lawyer to join our team. Reporting directly into the Head of Legal, you will help grow and shape the legal team from the outset! 

You will: 

  • Be the first port of call for all regulatory and licensing issues relating to our UK and international business
  • Advise on the impact of specific laws and regulations on our business, which may include MiFID II, FSMA, SRD2,GDPR 
  • Monitor trends and developments in UK and EU regulatory law and work closely with Compliance and other business teams and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance
  • Support local and global Product, Strategy and Management teams on launch of new products or business initiatives
  • Draft and maintain internal policies to ensure firm compliance and effect implementation of regulatory changes
  • Manage external counsel on regulatory matters
  • Help to lead regulatory policy and lobbying initiatives where appropriate

About you:

  • You have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • You have strong FinReg experience gained within a reputable law firm, financial institution and/or in-house, with a focus on brokerage-related matters within securities markets 
  • You have excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders effectively
  • You are a proactive self-starter who can take responsibility for your own work with minimal direction from management
  • You will have experience working with tech companies (Desirable)
  • You will have experience working with high-growth organisations (Desirable)

Logistics:

The application process consists of a 4 stage process. You will initially have a phone interview with one of our internal Talent Specialists, followed by a screen with our VP Risk & Compliance, Dan Tedman, a cultural interview with the final round being run by the hiring manager, our Head of Legal, which will consist of a task presentation.
