Salary: £44,624 - £47,665

Sellick Partnership are working in partnership with small and friendly legal service within a Council in North Wales to recruit at an experienced Senior Safeguarding Lawyer to join their existing team of Lawyers.

Key duties of the Senior Safeguarding Lawyer:

As Senior Safeguarding Lawyer, you will be primarily responsible for providing legal advice, assistance and representation in court in relation to the safeguarding of children. As well as this, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team of Safeguarding lawyers and legal assistants within Legal Services, which incorporate Adults safeguarding .

You will be an integral part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council's services, you will be a positive and highly motivated person who is confident, versatile and innovative.

Ideal requirements of the Senior Safeguarding Lawyer:

The ideal candidate will have significant post qualification experience in all aspects of the law and practice relating to the area of Social Care. They have excellent advocacy skills and will appear in court as appropriate and be able advise competently on relevant legal matters and be able to apply their expertise to support other team memebers though mentoring and supervision.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to deliver complex advice clearly and communicate effectively with officers internally, and externally with courts, barristers, professional bodies and members of the public is essential

Previous managerial experience and knowledge of the local government legislative framework and policy would be an advantage, but we welcome applications from those looking to develop these skills.

You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/ Chartered Legal Executive with a current Practising Certificate.

The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Services check.
