Job Description

Location: Hammersmith & Fulham / Tower Hamlets

Contract: Permanent, full time

The Capital Projects Team have a pipeline of opportunities to deliver cladding replacement projects to residential buildings across London and the South East. This is an established team with a track record of delivering high quality projects with high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly involving the recladding of high-rise buildings, in which, by their nature, are safety critical works and involve significant fire and general safety risk, with typical project values between £2m and £9m, and of a construction nature.

Kier Places are currently looking to recruit Site Managers to support the Contract Managers and take responsibility for the management of all site activities on the project. Your role will be key to ensuring projects are safely delivered on time, to the highest quality and to budget whilst achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

As our workload is increasing, we are looking to expand the team on the projects we have in Hammersmith & Fulham and Tower Hamlets. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny. We understand this approach is essential to ensure we consistently win work and secure repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

As a Site Manager, you will lead, manage and develop a high performing team onsite, which will include an Assistant Site Manager, Resident Liaison Officers, Banksmen and Labourers and our supply chain delivery partners; you will report to the Contracts Manager and link in with the wider team of Design Managers and Quantity Surveyors; and using your operational expertise, you'll ensure risks are identified and mitigated whilst co-ordinating subcontractors and suppliers in a planned and controlled manner.

What do we need from you?

The upcoming works have an average value of £4m per project and have a wide range of access solutions, and cladding & façade systems - previous experience in these works, along with high standards of record keeping is essential, and previous experience in software such as Fieldview, Snagmaster and Microsoft Project is preferable, although training will be provided.

If you have extensive experience of a similar role within the construction and refurbishment sector, with good exposure to cladding and façade works then this could be the role for you. You should be qualified or certified in SMSTS, CSCS Black card, First Aid, and Asbestos Awareness, and you should also have a proven track record of leading and inspiring teams to achievement, excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.

As a bonus, you may have Temporary Works Co-ordinator training, Basic Scaffold Awareness, and Fire Manager training. Kier have a robust training plan in place for staff and support will be provided where necessary.

What will you receive?

You can expect a competitive salary and an outstanding package that includes a company car, private healthcare, a matched pension scheme up to 7.5%, 26 days' annual leave + bank holidays (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday) together with two employee Share Scheme options (Sharesave and Share Incentive Plan). Due to the nature of this role, you will also be required to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (applicants with criminal convictions will be treated on a case by case basis. We do not discriminate based on an applicant's criminal record or the details of any offences disclosed to us). Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
