We are looking to hire a Delivery Manager into our Decision Platform Team. The Decision Platform is composed of a number of components, ranging from our Underwriting Engine, to an integration platform and the data science modules that allow us to deliver text mining, analytic and predictive capabilities.
Who are the team?
The Deliver Manager is a key member of the Decision Platform team and central to ensure the successful delivery of the Decision Platform products. The role is a key player in bridging the gap between technical teams and the broader business objectives, by overseeing the end-to-end process of software development and delivery. This is crucial for ensuring that product initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
At UnderwriteMe, this role is about more than just overseeing timelines and resources, and it is key that the person has experience in startups, scale-ups and product delivery experience.
In this role you will support the Product Lead, the Engineering Manager, the architect of the decision platform and regional leads and will be key in sustaining the ongoing transformation of the business.
Team outputs/ objective
One of the key challenges will be to cultivate team environments that encourage growth, collaboration and high performance.
Success involves maintaining clear and effective communication with all the Decision Platform stakeholders across the different regions and the SLT team, working closer with the product lead and engineering manager.
Adaptability is crucial in this role, as it will require to excel in implementing process improvements, encouraging productivity, creativity and collaboration enhancing efficiency. Being adept at the same time of risk management, foreseeing and mitigating potential issues before they impact the product delivery outcomes.
Ultimately, we will be looking for someone who has a balance of technical acumen, leadership skills, and strategic thinking, ensuring projects not only meet their immediate objectives but also align with and support the broader Decision Platform business objectives.
What will I be doing?
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum with a strong emphasis on leveraging technology to drive product delivery.
Orchestrating the end-to-end features and product delivery, ensuring they align with technical standards, resources and business objectives. You will excel at navigating the complexities of the Decision Platform product development, from initial design through to deployment.-
Leveraging your deep understanding of the technical landscape, including software and product development practices, SaaS, Cloud computing and security measures.
Process improvementsandenhancing delivery efficiency and qualityworking with Agile coaches. This will involve continuously evaluating and refining delivery methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps, to streamline workflows, reduce waste, increase team performance and improve team agility. By introducing automation tools such as testing, deployment, and monitoring, you will ensure that processes are not only efficient but also scalable.-
Delivery and enhancing continuous deliveryacross the Decision Platform will be pivotal, as it directly impacts the ability to deliver value to our customers swiftly and reliably.
Building and maintaining a robust continuous delivery pipelinethat supports automated builds, tests, and deployments. You will ensure that improvements and feature updates can be released into production with minimal manual intervention, thereby reducing lead times and increasing the frequency of releases. This not only accelerates the feedback loop from end-users but also enables UnderwriteMe to adapt more quickly to market changes.
Effective communicationwill be essential for liaising between technical teams, and stakeholders, ensuring clarity of vision, alignment of expectations, and the successful negotiation of products’ deliverables.

We’re interested in candidates who have:
Experience as a Delivery Manager, ideally from the InsurTech or FinTech sectors, with a background in technology used to deliver scalable and robust SaaS-based products.
A good understanding of delivery management, a solid technical background, and excellent business and communication understanding. You will likely have an engineering or business management degree.
Having held a delivery management role in the past, you will have experience of:
Build and maintain high-performing teams characterised by high morale, engagement, and productivity supported by a very strong quantitative approach to managing team performances (e.g. Velocity, DORA metrics, etc.).
Continuously identify and implement improvements in delivery processes, methodologies, and tools to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver better quality outputs.
Effectively identify, mitigate, and manage risks throughout the product lifecycle. This includes foreseeing potential issues and implementing strategies to address them proactively, minimising their impact on the delivery.
Manage product and project delivery within the allocated budget, effectively allocating resources and minimising unnecessary expenses, reflecting strong financial and resource management skills.
Ensure that the products or services delivered meet or exceed the expected quality standards, overseeing the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the output is defect-free and aligns with stakeholder expectations.
Be able to show a solid understanding of the technical aspects of the product(s), and platform being managed, by demonstrating familiarity with product development and DevOps, practices, tools, and trends, although those do not have to be necessarily hands-on.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively liaising with Decision Platform team members, stakeholders, and UnderwriteMe colleagues.
You are entrepreneurial and comfortable building systems without the support of a major organisation.
You build constructive and collaborative relationships with global and regional teams across multiple disciplines.
Through any change or transformation, you are collaborative and extremely transparent with a desire to identify and solve problems quickly. You are loyal, with a passion for seeing change through to completion, despite roadblocks that might occur.
