Software Developer - Chester (Hybrid) - GBP 45,000-50,000 DOE
One of the UK's largest providers of disability services is looking for a skilled Software Developer to join their fast-growing IT team.
As a Software Developer, you will develop and maintain the in-house software systems by implementing resource-effective solutions to internal projects in order to improve business processes.
This role requires you to work from the Chester-based office 1-3 times a week therefore, you will need to live and have the full right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities as a Software Developer include:
Take responsibility for the full development life-cycle of software systems, including management of multiple projects in an ISO and PCI-compliant environment.
Collaborate with development team members, and external/contract developers to ensure appropriate software engineering practices are in place.
Design, develop, and test software using the chosen tools of the department for the given project.
Provide documentation, training, and delivery of the system, along with in-house software support to business users.
Manage changeovers to new systems and versions and control the integrity and access security of SQL databases.
Liaise with business users to elicit requirements and develop appropriate specifications.
Analyse client requirements and suggest implementation strategies.
Keep up-to-date with the latest software technologies and methodologies in line with the IT strategy.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within software development.
Engage with users to facilitate potential requirements to meet future needs.
Work on broader company-wide projects as required/needed.
Participate in project teams and wider management meetings to improve company-wide communications and decision-making.
Proactively introduce new software, bespoke or 3rd party that would benefit the company.
