Valarian’s resilient, scalable platform can be deployed into any environment (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid) and easily integrates with existing business collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp, harmonising compliance, security and efficiency.
The Role
Our Software Engineers are responsible for working directly with customers, to better understand their problems. You’ll bring the learnings from the field and help shape the roadmap of the product, as well as collaborate with the rest of the technical team to design and implement scalable, generalised solutions that will benefit all our customer base. You’ll work with the technical team to design and implement solutions, as well as supporting our commercial team with high scale projects.
We’ll expect you to take ownership of delivering features from end to end, work both independently and with the rest of the technical team, that will support you and help you at all times. We appreciate a dynamic approach, of bringing innovative solutions faster to the customer while improving the code and bringing it to the highest standards in quieter times.
That being said, we do value a clean code base, adhering to the standards and thorough testing.
In an average day you’ll work both independently on code and with the wider team at all levels to discuss overall problems and solutions. You’ll liaise directory with customers, occasionally on site, always having creative ideas front of mind.

What you’ll do:
- The customer will be your main partner and You’ll work directly with (them) our customers, aiming to better understand their problems impacting their business both pre and post implementation.
- You will investigate, determine and design the best solutions to overcome those problems. And actively participate with ideas that will shape the roadmap of the product
- As part of the wider team, you’ll work with our core engineering team who will be your main supporters, as well as your commercial colleagues working with our end users, who will also guide you in navigating the customer interaction.
What you’ll bring:
- A strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering or Data Science, or suchlike.
- At least 3+ years experience in a similar role.
- Flexibility in learning new technologies and a general curiosity, fuelling the willingness to find the right tech stack to solve the problems at hand.
- A strong work ethic, and a keen interest in being part of a rapidly growing start up.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- An ability to take initiative and deliver a very needed feature end to end.
- A keen eye for customers' needs, looking beyond the obvious.
- An ability to collaborate with teams across the organisation.
- An ability to travel to customers globally, up to 10% of the time.
