Hiring Requirements
- Completed recognized sommelier certification program (e.g. Certified Sommelier, WSET)
- Additional wine education or hospitality-related qualifications preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role at a reputable restaurant or wine-focused establishment.
- Proven success in wine service and sales.
- In-depth knowledge of wine regions, varietals, vintages, and production techniques.
- Effective communication and engagement with customers regarding wine knowledge.
- Track record of driving wine sales and contributing to restaurant profitability.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Potential leadership qualities and experience leading a wine service team.
Language Requirements
- Ability to speak and read English - analyze and interpret procedure manuals and memos, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, etc.
