We are pleased to be able to offer a Band 6 permanent post within the Adult Community SALT service in the London Borough of Brent.
We are a dynamic and welcoming team of SLTs and SLT Assistant, focused on providing high standard patient-centred care with emphasis on continuing service development and excellent links with our community multidisciplinary team and the local acute SLTs. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapists to complete our Adult SLT Team.
The successful post holder will provide assessment and therapy in dysphagia and communication to a wide range of adult clients with complex conditions including acquired and progressive neurological conditions. The role is based at Willesden Centre for Health & Care.
Main duties of the jobYou will have the rewarding experience of working with patients withing the area of Brent, a vibrant multicultural London Community, offering both domiciliary and outpatient care. You will have the opportunity to engage with service development such as research, audits and QI projects, for which CLCH also offers comprehensive training and support. You will also be able to develop specialist skills such as LSVT and/or stammering.
In our team we emphasise a supportive team environment. As such, your clinical development will be a priority and you will be receiving regular supervision including 1:1, peer supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development opportunities both internal and external. It will be expected that you will also be responsible for supporting junior members of staff.
We also work closely with the Rehabilitation wards at Willesden Centre and provide SLT cover as needed.

Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesThe role will be within the adult community Speech & Language Therapy service in Brent. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing specialist speech and language therapy services to a wide variety of clients with complex needs.
A significant proportion of these clients will have English as an additional language (EAL). They will be expected to manage their own caseload but will work in a multidisciplinary environment and receive regular supervision. To support with the management of patients with dysphagia they will have access to VFS/FEES as required.
