Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

£40-41,000 + Pension

Coventry
Early finish on Fridays.
Quality Engineer, Supplier Development, metal components and Assemblies, Supplier Quality Assurance, SQA role in the engineering and production team.Medium size manufacturing and engineering business in a European group.Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will focus on quality assurance on semi-finished metal components and assemblies from suppliers.Batch manufacturing so plenty of variety.
Measure and monitor supplier performance against quality standards Supplier scorecards.
Manage quality concerns with suppliers to meet tolerance standards, production plans and supplier agreements.
Establish quality standards and processes with new suppliers.
Support smaller suppliers to establish practical quality assurance processes.
Improve the quality of inbound metal components and assemblies by reducing reject rates at good-in inspection.
Build relationships with suppliers to make it as easy as possible to work in partnership and improve quality standards with supplier.
Support suppliers with processes like PPAP, APQP, engineering drawing release checks and quality inspection activities using CMM mutitoyo or Faro Arm or manual quality tools, verniers, calipers, micrometers etc.
Help to drive continuous improvement within supplier base, also help with cost effectiveness.
Salary negotiable for the right person.Guideline: £40-41,000 + Pension, Monday-Friday Days only, early finish on Fridays.
Experience Required A hands on engineer with good communications skills and experience of high tolerance high precision components.
Knowledge of quality processes similar to PPAP, APQP, FAIRS, ISIRs, or quality inspection and ideally experience of internal audits or supplier audits or IATF 16949.
Able to read drawings.Any CADCAM skills or CMM skills would be helpful but not essential.
An organised and milestone focused person that enjoys the new product, prototype small batch environments. Able to build relationships with people and occasionally meet suppliers at their site.
Previous job experience could include quality inspector, quality engineer, quality assurance in engineering, CNC machining, CADCAM, production engineering or new product introduction manufacturing engineer.
