Job Description

Southampton Companion Care is a well-established practice, partner owned for 15 years; flourishing with a wide variety of interesting medical and surgical cases including lots of dentistry and a small number of exotics giving our team the opportunity to learn and develop from our varied caseload.

Our practice owner Ruth along with our 2nd vet are both PG certificate holders in imaging and support and are supported by the newest member of our clinical team, who has recently joined us on our award-winning graduate programme.

As an RCVS accredited training practice, you’ll also be working with an incredible, skilled nursing team of 5 RVNs able to perform schedule 3 procedures, with our Head Nurse having been with us for 9 years now and one of our nurses first joining us as a student nurse! and 4 VCAs, in addition to our brilliant team of receptionists and Practice Manager who is also our onsite Mental Health First Aider.

We are offering this role with flexible hours and if desired as a consults’ only role. That means that if you’re looking for school time hours only, or maybe fewer days but longer shifts or something slightly different, we’ll be happy to consider your requirements. There are also no OOH and we also make sure we have a clear diary structure with 15-minute consults as standard.

In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a colleague with solid GP experience, a team player with great communication skills and someone who shares our passion for providing the highest level of veterinary care.
