Job Details and Role:

Our Lead Vets are responsible for directing the practice and its staff in providing the very best care to clients and their pets. You’ll also have an engaged interest in the running of the practice and be rewarded for its success.

This post has tremendous potential and lends itself to the area of interest of the selected candidates, with the ability to influence clinical direction. Ideal for someone who is driven and willing to lead a welcoming team and help the practice grow.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure all team members provide quality, ethical care to all clients and their pets/livestocks via guidance and mentorship
  • Work alongside your regional teams to ensure the overall performance of the practice is met to a high standard, budgets are maintained, and a positive working environment is achieved
  • Ensure relevant compliance with veterinary ethics and statutes, policies, and procedures g. Medivet preferred drug policy
  • Assess, examine, and diagnose patients’ medical issues including but not limited to surgeries, diagnostics, imaging, and ultrasound testing
  • Provide high standards of clinical care to your clients and patients and direction and leadership to colleagues in practice, to ensure delivery against agreed performance measures
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care standards in your practice, always encouraging a progressive clinical culture
  • Follow Medivet policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented in your practice and adhered to by all your team
  • Work with your Regional Operations Director, practice and wider colleagues to deliver exceptional care whilst driving your practice forward

Salary and Benefits:

Full-time salary package up to £72,000 per annum depending on experience to include

  • 4-day week with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends
  • £1,500 CPD Allowance plus 3 days CPD leave
  • Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, British Veterinary Association, and Veterinary defence society fees paid

About you:

We’re looking for a leader, someone that can motivate and encourage change with confidence and a positive mindset, but also the analytical ability to make sure that as a business our practices thrive.

We're searching for someone with the authority to influence the clinical direction of your practice. Someone who is a good all-rounder, comfortable with routine surgeries, and a high-level leader.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
  • Qualified MRCVS
  • Commitment to animal welfare
  • Ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • 4+ Years of Clinical Experience
  • Verbal Communication Skills
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to use your judgement and make decisions

It would also be great if you had knowledge/experience of

  • X-ray Procedure
  • Working with Exotics
